We then went down a dirt road, an old Route 66 section and found an obelisk denoting the old Ozark Trail that predated Route 66. Then in Clinton, we attempted to go to the Route 66 museum there, but we were too early so we decided to go to the local Tractor Supply like store to look around until we could get into the museum. The museum and the armory are both very nice.
The round Barn in Arcadia, OK was pretty cool too. Too bad the little gift shop in the basement is so lame. Well worth a stop though just to see it. They very nearly lost the barn due to neglect before the community raised money to repair it. Now it looks great.
On to Pop's for lunch. Burgers were great and so were the amazing choices of soda! Sodas from all over the country and other parts of the world were available. Very cool!
We then went across a pony bridge on Route 66 then on to Clinton, OK for the Oklahoma Route 66 museum. This museum had great exhibits. We enjoyed it!
Stopped for the night at the Big Texan for dinner and a room. Rooms are OK, the restaurant is pretty cool. We are currently in a pretty wicked dust storm! Not a dust cloud, but a dust storm.
