Day 5: Hubbell Trading Post and Painted Desert

The Hubbell Trading Post is on Navajo land, and has a nice bookstore and trading post. It also has a wide selection of handmade rugs as well as a blacksmith.

The Painted Desert is a vast national park with amazing scenery. When visiting, TAKE A CAMERA.

The area also contains literal tons of petrified logs, which look great when polished. Examples can be bought in the gift shop, it is illegal to take pieces from the park itself.

After a very long visit in the park, we drove in to Holbrook, Arizona for lunch at Joe & Aggies. Very good food, very nice people. Also in Holbrook is the Courthouse, supposedly haunted. No ghost encounters, but there were many antiques there, which made for an interesting visit. Overall, this day so far has been a good one.
